He's alive ! part 2
|
Ok,it seems that my firefox is cooperating with me for the moment.... So,my oldest sister Lisa just got married to her (supposed) life partner,Ruthe...Not to sound too cynical here, but I think she jumped the gun with this whole marriage thing... I could be wrong here...Lesbians generally have more stable, loving and nuturing relationships then gay men...I know i'll probably take some flack for that statement, but it's true... At least, in my own personal situation it is... I got off the merry go round bar scene long ago...I don't really miss it...What I do miss is the socializing and the dancing. Who misses creepy drunken trolls who try to grope you at any given opportunity? Ick.... The barscene today is not the same as the scene was back in '92...It's worsened considerably since then...Too much drugs and personal irresponsibility abound ...20- somethings who were too young to see the horror of the first wave of AIDS... Now,they jump anything that moves, and do not practice safe sex at all... They are going to be the second wave of preventable deaths... It's pathetic. Is sex worth dying over? Definitely not... Ok,now that I'm apparently done having a self righteous moment, lol, back to the wedding... So, my youngest sister and myself went to this wedding. The ceremony was held in a refurbished storefront...My sister's guests were the earthy types that hang around Cornell University/Ithaca,Ny area... Earthy meaning: lack of deodorant, dirty in appearance,gross... Plus, why are the majority of her lesbian friends straight-hating/men-hating? Gee,I always assumed that my gay family would be a bit less judgemental than my immediate family. LOL Needless to say, the ceremony dragged on over 4 hours in a storefront room that was increasing in temperature from the sun going through the windows... The smell was progressively getting worse,too... After the ceremony was over,I rushed outside to gulp in some fresh air.I mean, how much misery can I self inflict on myself? Left the house in Connecticut at 3:30AM,and drove all the way to Elmira,NY for the wedding which started at 12pm. I had 2 hours of sleep and a sunny disposition,I'm sure... The next time I get invited to a gay wedding,I'm going to make sure it is held either in an air-conditioned building,or outside in a large area...Maybe then I can enjoy the ceremony without having to breathe through my fingers that thankfully I had the hindsight to perfume with a spritz of Chanel, before I entered the building... Alright, I guess that was enough misery to inflict on whoever reads this blog, lol! Later...
